The World Bank Published the Reproductive Health Survey Romania 2004

The Reproductive Health Survey Romania 2004 is the fourth study approaching the reproductive health, which was published in Romania after 1990. The study bears a great importance at the national level. The sample included 4441 women aged 15-44 and 2361 men, aged 15 -49 years. The study data comprise an evaluation of the actions taken in the health reproductive area in Romania and helps identify the tendencies of specific indicators, with focus on access to health services, especially for mother and children. The survey represents an essential database for new future actions’ priorities in the health sector, as well as for new assistance programs. 

The highlight is represented by a special chapter dedicated to the evaluation of health services, which describes the barriers faced by the population while using the heath facilities.

The study was written in accordance with the an agreement between the Ministry of Health, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) (UNFPA), United Nations Children’s Fund, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), John Snow Research and Training Institute, Inc. (JSI RT), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and the Institute for Mother and Child Protection, Alfred Rusescu.
